Notes from the Health Room

Cold and Flu season is upon us. Students who are ill and have a fever should remain at home until the temperature has been normal, without the use of fever reducing medications, for 24 hours.

As I know you know, Mrs. Bengermino does so much for everyone here at BPES--staff and students. So, we want to share our appreciation for all of her work, kindness, time listening, and support for all of us!

Carson Scholars Fund Scholarship Nominee Named

We are proud to say that many of our students were initially eligible! Fifth grader, Mary Michele, has been announced as the student to represent Bushy Park moving forward!

HCPSS Tops Maryland Rankings Again

For the second year in a row, the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) has been named the top school system in Maryland by Niche.com, a national education and community analysis firm.

Information for Carson Scholarship

We recently sent out invitations to students in fourth and fifth grade who earned at least a 3.75 GPA in the first quarter of the 2016-2017 school year. These students are invited to apply to be the Bushy Park nominee for the Carson Scholarship Award. We may only choose one nominee. In addition to at least a 3.75 GPA, students must demonstrate humanitarian efforts and community service outside of school.

Parent Volunteer Orientations Next Week

This coming MONDAY, September 19th at 9:30 a.m. we will host our annual Parent Volunteer Orientation in the Cafeteria. This is mandatory each year for any adult that will work with our students in a volunteer capacity. Dr. Via and Mrs. Ketterer will be there to both offer the training and interact with questions and ideas.
