It is with great excitement that I welcome you to Bushy Park!
I am a lifelong Maryland resident. I grew up in Silver Spring, and began my teaching career in Montgomery County Public Schools, before coming to the Howard County Public School System in 2015. Throughout my career as an educator, I have been a 5th, 4th, and 1st grade teacher and team leader, instructional specialist for elementary science, assistant principal, and principal. I was appointed to the principalship at Bushy Park in 2019, and am thrilled to be entering my fourth year as your principal. I live here in Howard County with my husband, our two children, John and Elise, and our rescue dog, Gus. When I am not at work, you can find me reading, hiking, cooking and baking, or cheering my children on at year-round swim meets.
I am here to serve the families, staff, and most importantly, the children of the Bushy Park community. As your principal, my commitment to you is to make BPES a great place for each and every child. From me, you can expect authenticity, responsiveness, and student-centered decision making. I believe that there is great power in what can be accomplished when school staff and parents partner to support children.
Our theme for the 2022-23 school year as a staff is Moving Forward Together. We will live this theme through supportive relationships with students, families, and one another, by providing high-quality learning experiences for all students, and by uplifting student and staff voice.
Please reach out to me directly at any time. I look forward to a great year together!
