Dear Bushy Park Community,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the proud principal at Bushy Park!
I am a lifelong Maryland resident. I grew up in Silver Spring, and began my teaching career in Montgomery County Public Schools, where I taught 5th, 4th, and 1st grades. I then had the opportunity to support teachers and school leadership teams system-wide as an instructional specialist in the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs for three years, before being promoted to assistant principal. In 2015, I joined the Howard County Public School System, serving as assistant principal at Manor Woods Elementary School prior to my appointment as principal at Bushy Park in June 2019. I live here in Howard County with my husband and two children, John and Elise. When I am not at work, you can find me reading, hiking, cooking and baking, or cheering my children on at swim meets.
I am here to serve the families, staff, and most importantly, the children of the Bushy Park community. As your principal, my commitment to you is to make BPES a great place for each and every child. From me, you can expect authenticity, responsiveness, and student-centered decision making. I believe that there is great power in what can be accomplished when school staff and parents partner to support children.
Greetings Bushy Park ES!
I’m excited to be working with you as your Assistant Principal and I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you and your children to make this a wonderful and positive school year. This is my 29th year working in HCPSS. I taught and served as an instructional team leader in 4th and 5th grades in several schools throughout the county, as well as served as an assistant principal at Manor Woods ES, Wilde Lake MS, Pointers Run ES, Worthington ES, and Thunder Hill ES. I have enjoyed learning from the students, staff, and parents throughout the years and have fully supported the social and academic needs of the students.
