This is my second year as Principal of Bushy Park Elementary. It is a vibrant school community and a joy to serve in! The support we receive from our parent community is an amazing! Our dedicated teaching staff enjoys how our students come to school excited. They make sure our friends remain engaged all day long, are just-right challenged and continually grow!
I have been working in the Howard County Public School System for many years and my educational experience spans grades K-6 in the roles of classroom teacher, team leader and G/T resource teacher. I have served as an administrator in three different schools in Howard County. I am a Pennsylvania native and received my Bachelor Degree in Education, dually certified in Elementary and Special Education, from Penn State University. After relocating and beginning my teacher career in Maryland, I received a Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Johns Hopkins University. I returned there later to earn my certification in Administration and Supervision. I anticipate an amazing year ahead as my team and I support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Bushy Park Elementary School. We believe in knowing each of our learners and weaving in their voice to fully engage them in their learning. As Principal, I see your involvement as a vital component and welcome your input. If at any time you have concerns, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to share them with me.
Welcome to Bushy Park Elementary! I am proud to be the Assistant Principal of such an outstanding elementary school and a member of our exemplary staff. I am thankful to work with such wonderful students, staff, and parents to fully engage our students in meaningful learning and to challenge them to give their best effort each day in their journey toward academic excellence.
I have over 30 years of experience as an educator in the Howard County Public School System. I have taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 and have served as a Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher. I hold a doctorate in Education, Policy, and Leadership in addition to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from the University of Maryland.
I am looking forward to a new school year as we grow and learn together! Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
